How do we design our courts with wheelchair accessibility in mind?

By thinking about the athlete experience from the very beginning. Building an inclusive sports floor isn’t just about choosing the right surface- it’s about designing an environment where every athlete can move freely, safely, and with confidence. At DYNAMIK, accessibility is built into every stage of court planning and installation.

Our surfaces are even, with low rolling resistance, and come with ideal slip resistance, providing consistent traction for wheelchair pivoting and rapid directional changes. Combined with barrier-free entry points, a minimum 1.5-1.8m manoeuvring space outside court lines, and accessible seating areas, athletes and spectators have the space they need to move and engage without restriction.

We also prioritise clear visual and tactile markings, helping athletes navigate the playing area with precision. And by eliminating ledges, lips, and uneven joints, we remove unnecessary barriers and reduce the risk of tipping or impact – giving athletes confidence in every movement.

Inclusive design isn’t one detail – it’s a system of decisions that make the game better, safer and more accessible. And that’s exactly what we’re delivering on the road to Glasgow 2026.
